Is anyone aware of reading material that discusses interfacing circuits to the AC mains and how to deal with transients due to hot insertion (hot plugging)?
I know many AC/DC converters are used to convert the 110V (220V) down to a DC voltage for powering devices, but what if I want to interface the output of an op-amp to the AC mains and drive a signal onto it?
The op-amp in this case is transformer coupled and will be plugged into the AC outlet. I expect massive voltage/current transients, so is there literature that discusses something similar?
My Google-fu is weak.
