Would it be possible to give the users control over topics they started? I feel wasteful when I go through and post topics only to find the solution 30 mins later but not able to delete the topic created.
If such a situation arises, you can PM one of the moderartors (I check this site practically everyday) who will delete the topic at the request of the author. Alternatively you could post in the topic that you wish for it to be deleted, one of the moderators or admin will come along and delete the topic as requested.
Don't worry about making such requests, it is our job to ensure that the forums are run in an organised manner, and if we can help any forum member we will do so.
