if you connect a12v curcuit connected to 24v PSU what will happen? the voltages 12v and 24v could be different, I just want to know what happens ? according to ohms law more voltage less amps , but same resistance, only watts would be the same, it seems like it would work out?

It's very easy to find out what happens when you increase the voltage across a fixed resistive load.

Which version of Ohm's law are you thinking of?

If your load designed to handle 120mA at 12V (1.4 Watts) then the load's resistance is 100 ohms. If you double the supply then law says: 24V/100 ohms = 240mA (5.7 Watts). It's VERY high than needed so the circuits would be fried.

But it depends on circuit, some circuits have been designed with wide supply input voltage, eg- a circuit regulated by 78xx regulator.
