hi everyone,

That computer im building uses a load of 4017 decade counters for timing logic. BUT I have just realised they are synchronus counters. So could i use a load of shift registers cascaded?

What kind of timing logic? Sounds like you need a bunch of ripple counters to me.

 

well it just enables buffers and latch lathes so things work in precise sequence
