I am trying to read how many beats are there in a certain amount of time, say 1 minute but my problem is that a I am not sure how to display values greater than 99.I am using a PIC16F627A,please help

I think you are not using multiplexing,If you dont know what is multiplexing then google it with the keyword "Seven segment display multiplexing"

If you download AN526 from Microchip it has a 16 bit binary to BCD routine. That should help.

 

The thing is i am not even sure if its possible to display a 3 digit value on the PIC16F627A becuase the last time I displayed a number,it was a 2 digit number.'

what id like to know is how to connect 3 seven segment displays and be able to display a number like 156

 

just downloaded the AN526, it looks promising but im still open for other suggestions
