Can I directly connect a two 3.5 jack... cellphone (3.5mm jack) <---------> sound card (3.5mm jack)

what would i want to do is to have the first 3.5 mm jack inserted at my phone at C P U so the sound will be transfer to cpu

will this destruc t the soun dd card

 

The phone's output is a headphone/earbud output that can go higher than the line level input expected by the sound card. You probably will be okay doing it but if you want to make your phone output approximate a line level, connect the output to a multimeter and adjust it to average 316mV RMS.
