2phase induction motor?

2 phase doesn't happen on the U.S. power grid unless you look at American center tapped 240 and have a sense of humor. That's the extent of my knowledge because I don't play with steppers or DC motors. My job is just straight 208/230 (rarely 440V) single phase and 3 phase. I suppose you could wind a motor to use each of the 120V phases to the center tap, seperately, and call it 2 phase, but I have enough trouble communicating with parts clerks without getting into that kind of conversation!

For every day fixit work in the U.S. there is no 2 phase.

that wasn't a very good answer I gave considering you where asking about induction motors.

could someone be calling a split phase 2 phase?
Thats what I thought when I read your answer, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt and read some more about BLDC and aparently there is such thing as a BLDC induction motor.
