I am TRYYYYING to finish a BYOC chorus, and I've lost the 2N5087 transistor I usually order parts from Futurlec but I'd like to get this together before I retire. The only PNP that Pedal Parts Plus has is a 2N3906 would this be a good replacement?

It depends on the application. The schematic might help us answer your question.

Yes your 2N 3906 is a possible replacement usefully with the same pinout but,

1) It has a lower the power rating so check if this is critical.

2) Its voltage rating is 40 volts as opposed to 50. I can't see your circuit needing this but check anyway.

3) It has a much higher frequency rating so you may need to add or increase feedback capacitance for stability.

As others have said post the circuit for better advice.

Contact me and I will send two pieces, no charge (T0-92)
will take about 1 week to get to Manila
can also preselect to verify that hFE >400
first two pieces tested measured 512 and 500
the 2N3906 may work, depending upon circuit requirements, but I consider it a poor replacement
