Does anyone know how can I step down voltage without using a transformer? I need a system which will take 220V AC and supply 9V DC. I can use rectifier to get DC from AC , but how can I step down the voltage ? I cant use transformer because of the limited space of my system

I do not think this comply with the TOS. Do not be a dingbat. Use a transformer or a get s small approved switch mode power supply.

Gut the PCB from a 220VAC to 9VDC wall wart. Small, safe , and cheap.
