I have been spending quite a lot of time online researching how a 2 meter transceiver station can be built. I know I need to build the station in parts. I have downloaded Qucs for Windows, and have also been reading the 2010 ARRL textbook, and AUDEL Basic Electronics.
I need to know how a frequency modulator is built. I understand a voltage-controlled oscillator is necessary to modulate data into the frequency range of the carrier wave. My problem is I seem to be unable to discover how a voltage-controlled oscillator is constructed, or if I can simply purchase one for use in my project.
