Hi.
Electric equipment I have (inverter) has a WiFi capability dongle antenna that expects a router and internet provider to connect to its manufacturer server for updates, reports and other things.

There is no WiFi router nor internet provider at the location.

My 'smart' Android phone has internet access and is WiFi capable.
How to make the phone act as a 'bridge' or 'link' the inverter WiFi with the manufacturer server on the web ?

Search for information on how to make an android phone into a WiFi "hotspot".
I found several such articles and a YouTube tutorial for that.

I have an iPhone that has a setting to do that, so I would think there would be Android phones that could do the same.

Thank you, sir. Good guidance, extremely helpful if I can manage

making the hotspot mode work
+ setting up the firmware application in my phone
+ getting the inverter wifi to talk to the phone wifi
+ connecting to the internet
+ engaging the server which is famously flawful.
+ and keep all simoultaneously working.

but optimist. Will take me a while, but optimist ;)

There's also "Tethered Hot Spot" working mode. In which i.e. you connect your phone to a laptop using an USB cable. Then the phone acts as the internet link between the laptop and the GPRS network. It's especially useful because the link is much faster than wifi, plus the phone will use the laptop's battery as its power source instead of depleting its own battery.
