Do you guys have any recent figures on how efficient are modern COB LEDs?
My point being: if I put 100W into an LED chip, how much heat is it going to produce, and how much energy is leaving via the emmited light?
I found numbers of 70% conversion to light, which is not what I would expect, my guess would be lower 30s. And I am really having hard time googling any other relevant articles, so would appreciate any you can find.

25 to 30% efficiency is about all you can expect from an LED - the most modern of LED light or double the efficiency of a fluorescent tube. A fluorescent tube is about 5x more efficient than an incandescent bulb.
If you expect high CRI from an LED or fluorescent tube - a 30% efficient LED with an ugly bluish emission would lose some efficiency to tune emissions to a high CRI and would be 20% efficient at best.
