Ok, these links are references to what i am trying to make. what i basically what to make it in the first link. If you watch the video with the led and the cup, that is what i am trying to do.

then the second (and third) link it what i would do later with this.

i need some help doing this. i have tried a few ways but cant get it to work.

has anyone done this before?

found a video on this from mit

buy it!!

I'm sorry, the first link shows multiple projects. What exactly are you trying to do? Magnetic levitation? Wireless recharging? Where in the process do you need specific help?

lol @ papa.. loser did you watch the video? wireless power transfer? it works, ok? and http://www.engadget.com/tag/WirelessPower/ so yes it does work.

I got some help from the guy who made the website. so if no one here has any experience in wireless power transfer, its ok. I will post when it will work (soon, but might be delayed because i have to get a LCR meter)

@ papa you'll see!!! when i get my LCR meter (4-10 days) i will get my'n yo work to and you will be so awwed. you will be like " OMFG thats so cool how can i make one"
and i'll be like lol, ok let the master teach you!!!"
then you will say "Oh thank you, thank you"

wow weird dream. WILF

MIT demonstrated a wireless power transfer device a few months ago using resonance coils. It lighted up a light bulb across the room, IIRC the efficiency is in the region of 60%.

well, ok... it was just a prototype... not perfect. but who gives about efficiency? yes if you use higher voltages and more watts power will cost more. But hey aren't tv's, washing machens, Pc's all stationary? because you wont move it you could have an outlet right next to it.
but a cell phone only needs like 5v and 200mA to charge. If you do lose 40% of it that will not cost much.

Most of these toys work when the receiver is within millimeters of the transmitter. Some work up to a meter away. The universe has this inconvenient law about dividing signal strength by the square of the distance.

Most wall-worts have more than a meter of cord. Most wall-worts also run higher than 99% efficiency.

I'll gladly buy a ticket to that show! But how are you going to get a crusty old engineer to talk like a teenie-bopper?

I hope papabravo video tapes it, so we all can see him saying "Oh thank you, thank you". I'm thinking hell will freeze over before that video hits youtube. :D
