Is there any sort of PCB out there that will store just one song and only play that song when turned on? I'm trying to build an electronic music box, and need to get some sort of PCB or music player that is small and will allow me to put the song of my choice on it (not record, but copy via computer).
Ideally, it would be perfect to have a PCB that I can copy my song to, and when it is turned on, it plays the song, when turned off, it doesn't. Something simple. How should I go about this? Thanks!

I don't know much about how to solve this problem, but, I remember some very annoying Hallmark type cards with sound chips in them. I couldn't call it music because music isn't that bad sounding. Anyway, that method might be a place to start.

Someone actually posted that IC up a while back. It was a 3 terminal device, really neat. The only drawback was it had to be programmed at the factory. This implied they were only interested in quantity sales to me.

You could always check into chipcorder IC's (By Winbond), these are digital IC's that can store analog audio or speech....

You can just use a cheap MP3 player and a small amplified speaker set. Some MP3 players can be set up to play on powerup if that helps. A couple of years ago I got a 512 MB player for $5 at Fry's. You'd have a hard time finding anything less than 1GB now.
