    hi, i have a circuit that has a x2444p 8pin dip installed.
    i am trying to find a good eeprom programmer that will read and write the chip.

    i have a small serial eprom programmer (chineese red circuit board) style
    it dosne't read it. and it came with no instructions.

    do need to hook up like a 5vdc powersupply before it reads?

    do you have a recommendation on a programmer?

    i have ponyprog installed, but no real instructions on what im trying.
    thanks

    Hello,

    It is an NVRAM.

    2444P

    Non-Volatile (NVRAMs) Static RAM - Single 5.0V supply required
    Xicor, Inc.
    NVRAM
    Number of Words=16
    Bits Per Word=16
    t(acc) Max. (S)=375n
    Output Config=3-State
    Nom. Supp (V)=5.0
    Status=Discontinued
    Package=DIP
    Pins=8
    Military=N
    Technology=NMOS

    I found a datasheet of the militairy version (X2444M).

    Hello,

    I think you do not need a programmer.
    It can be connected to a microcontroller like an AVR or PIC.
    In the datasheet is given how to program it.
    There are several timing diagrams.
