working of RL and RC circuits

    i need a brief practical explanation on the working of RL and RC circuits and its applications :) can anyone help me.............

    They are the simplest circuits involving a single reactive component. The capacitor stores charge and takes time for a voltage to increase or decrease. The inductor stores energy in a magnetic field and it takes time for the current to increase or decrease. With reactive components the behavior of the circuit depends on the frequency of the signals.

    The RC circuit is the simplest low pass filter you can construct; that is it's primary application.

    The RL circuit is the fundamental circuit for running a motor; that is it's primary purpose.
