I am wanting to wire a pair of 12 volt 3 way switches to control a LED strip between the two switches in a similar manner to a normal household 3 way circuit.

I'm looking for the appropriate switch to be able to do that. Any ideas?

 

All you need are two SPDT switches and wire it like this.

 

What you need is 2 single pole double throw switches (not ones with center off)
When wiring the common of the first switch goes to the power source. The common of the second switch goes to the load.
That leaves the 2 "travelers", that the 2 left over terminals on each switch.You wire one traveler from 1 switch to the traveler on the other switch, repeat. See attached
