perhaps it means impedance (Z) ?? the vector sum of inductance, capacitance, and dc ohms.

    Howdy:

Winding resistance is the DC resistance of the wire itself. Winding capacitance is the capacitance between each turn of a coil. The "universal winding" was designed to minimize the inter-winding capacitance by not allowing the turns to ever run parallel to each other. The RCA Radiotron Handbook goes into this in great detail. It is crucial for retaining Hi-Q coils at R.F. frequencies.
