Wide area Zigbee network

Is it possible to get a license devices for a wide area zigbee network of several miles? For example on a farm, to turn on sprinklers or pumps, or have temperatures in the fields send an alert if they get low. I was thinking of amplifying the Texas instruments Zigbee SoC with a 1 or 2 watt amplifier.
