I am getting lazier.

My e-mail client is Thunderbird; it runs on my desk-top computer (Win XP Pro.) My desktop computer is the hub of my wi-fi network. I would like to be able to get access to my e-mail on my desk-top computer from my laptop (Win Vista) in the next room. Or at least receive a notification on my laptop when Thunderbird on my desk-top recieves a new e-mail.

Does anyone know how?

Thanks

If memory serves, XP Pro has a free remote interface. You can look up XP remote login or something similar. This should allow you to access the XP machine from the Vista machine.

A paid alternative is Radmin server. It's $50 for a lifetime and I've never had a problem with it.
