Does anybody know why the core of a 50 Hz power transformer works in saturation?

What kind of question is that? Like why all cores work in saturation, or why is that specific core working in saturation, or ...?

 

If a core is being operated saturated, then it'll be dissipating power as heat instead of doing useful work.
