I want to rotate stepper motor using 293 driver ic. But facing a problem that when i connect power supply +Vs as +9Volt and +Vss as +5Volt the my driver ic is heating rise.

My question is this driver ic needed +12 Volt as +Vs?

Can is use +Vs as a +9Volt? and how can i rotate my bipolar stepper motor?

whats a 293?? use full IC names please. or post with datasheet.
can you also supply your schematic?

I use L293D as a motor driver ic.

    and your schematic?
also, what motor are you using?
remember, any information you can give, is useful!!

Page 3 of the datasheet. it should be between VSS and 36V.

9V and 5V should be ok. What's the input signal voltage?

As was said, we need a schematic,.

The l293 will not run a motor by itself( well maybe a very weak/small one) it needs a l298 or similar h-bridge to run a bipolar motor
