why infiniband name is used in infiniband switch

    can anybody describe the SDR and DDR in infiniband..and how the speed is more in DDR.

    I know what is infiniband. but I want the reason why the put name infiniband.

    I think your question is more related to DDR as a concept rather than Infiniband itself.

    I believe Dual Data Rate (DDR) transmits data both on the up and the down of the clock pulse, whereas SDR is just on the up.

    I've seen Infiband used between nodes of a cluster in addition to standard ethernet.
