Where do I find tutorial of circuit diagram?

Hi all, welcome me.. this is my first time join this group.. :)
Would you mind to tell me where can i get some free tutorial about circuit design ?
I'm blank about electric component, crircuit design and everything about electric.
oh ya, Do you know how to store data from an inidicator to a device through RS232 and then I can download data from the device to my computer..
what hardware and software do i need ?
