I have been searching everywhere for this answer. I am looking at two different voltage regulators- LM7805 and LM7815.

What is the difference between the LM7805 and LM7805CV???? Also, what makes the LM78L05 any different?

The same goes for LM7815...

A 7805 is a fixed 5v regulator
A 7815 is a fixed 15v regulator.
Usually, the letter suffix indicates the package type; "C" usually denotes a TO-220 package.

Determine the regulator's manufacturer, and download their datasheet to be certain.

Thank you. Is there any difference with a LM78L05 and LM7805? I think I may have heard somewhere that the polarity is reversed.
