Whats that old binary code thing? 1,0.-1?

    Whats that old binary code thing? it has both a 1 and a 0 like in binary but also a -1. I was talking to the A.P of math and science in my school and he mentioned it while we were talking about plain binary, but I did not have time to ask for its name.

    Trinary. Or is it known by another name as well?

    That's how you express negative values in binary.

    Right thats how you express a negative number in binary, but thats not what I meant. What I was looking for is Trinary.

    Does it go by any other names? Where could I find more information about it?
