In the schematic attached, what symbol is that circled on the left hand side?

What is the symbol directly above that ref as 9V?

    Thanks.

The circled component is a female input jack. It's used to symbolize to port which you connect another circuit, in that case probably a 9V DC source.

    Hello,

You circled part of the symbol.
The thick line above the circle also belongs to the symbol.

It is the input connector for the 9 Volts in this case.
