We've built a small amp and a timer circuit for 12 volts and we want to add a fuse to the power line. How do we figure out what size to use? Is there a formula or a way to accurately calculate the correct size?
Well first you have to know or measure the maximum current draw for you amp and timer circuits. Then you can size the fuse to be somewhat above that amount. Fuses aren't very percise in their blowing rating, they are really to protect against short circuits and major component failures. We've built a small amp and a timer circuit for 12 volts and we want to add a fuse to the power line.
