I am adding some "animation" to a mosaic my wife is making, showing a cave explorer pouring a dye into a cave stream. The dye produces a green fluorescence so traces of that in the water will be illuminated from behind with the green LED. I may also install the yellow LED to illuminate the head light worn by the caver.

 

@ Rane, This is wandering off topic, but if you are using fluoroscein, yo might get a more impressive result by using a near UV LED or something with less amount of visible green in it.

That would be nice - but mosaics are made of glass. There are photoluminescent glasses, but it would also have to be green anyway, so it would look OK even if not illuminated. But certainly something to consider. Thanks.
