I've been using 8051 and keil c environment for my development and I like it. If I have to do something on a new project involving more math (will be doing a lot of curve fitting calculations based on adc data). I'm thinking of upgrading to a more powerful mcu. Can you provide some recommendation? I would hope for something that's easy to use like the 8051 and minimal enivronment. I don't want an OS (my OS is the while loop). Thank you for any input!

Try the 16 bit PIC series, by Microchip.
