I googled but yield little results. Hopefully I can have a link to its complete operation principle and advantages of it. Any help?

Sorry for not being clear. ANY Sensor will do. But if possible use either :
    Photoelectric sensor
    Inductive Proximity Sensor
    Fiber Optic Sensor
    Magnetic Sensor
    Microswitch snap action Sensor
    Pressure Sensor
    Photoelectric High Accuracy Sensor
    Capacitive Proximity Sensor
    Temeperature Sensor
    Ultrasonic Sensor

Finally a question I can answer. Look into the lumber mill industry they use alot of different sensors for processing lumber. Most of the operations were done by hand or eye not to long ago and they could not keep up with the demand.
