So I just got this water pump from a washing machine maybe.
Its got 2 male end wire connectors. i cut off an old plug and stuck it on there and it works great.
Was wondering if I should put any components besides on off switch?
    or just run it straight?

If it seems to run fine, I don't see why you would need to add anything else (expect perhaps a fuse).

thats a good idea. I'm not familiar with Ac applications. Big fatty fuse from ace.
    you good with 220?

At a minimum I would atleast switch the motor and an appropriately sized fuse would be a good safety feature. Leaky water pump plus electricity don't mix.

are there ANY exposed metalic parts, or is it all plastic? If there is any metal housings, use a 3 prong, grounding plug, with the ground securely fastened to the metal part.

For extra safety, connection through a ground-fault interrupter would also be a good idea.
