I had to do some trouble shooting of our direcTV gene/swim network system today. (whole system had to be reset). I noticed the receiver had an Ethernet port, I did a bit of research after just to learn about the SWIM network system. one thing I saw said your receiver can be connected to the home network. this made me wonder if it is possible if I did so would I then be able to watch tv live or from DVR off anything connected to the home network. E.G computers, tablets, etc? any idea if this is possible? they advertise stuff like that, but not sure if that's how it works.

It may be like a DVR. You have to pay for the service to be activated, even though the capability is built into the unit.
