    I want to build a H-bridge for driving DC motors using arduino pwm. From what I hear, Mosfets being fast-switching are practical in this application. Furthermore, opto couplers are good for protection. I have learned up till now is that using n channel Mosfets with lower R(sdon) is favourable to reducing heat. So I have decided on using IRFZ44N. Is this a good choice?

    Please provide a schematic with your answer.

    How about using L297 and L298?

    Or perhaps L293?

    Will you make it on a breadboard or on a perf/strip board? Home-pcb?

    Try to use Google to find a schematic. Or another search site that you like.

    The project is to make a H-bridge using discrete components only. Using motor drivers is not an option. I have googled alot for schematics but am I heading in the right direction?
    Will be prototyping this circuit on breadboard then final build will be on perf/strip board.

    This is pretty clearly homework (or some other kind of assigned project for school).

    You need to show YOUR best efforts to work the problem. It's not acceptable to ask others to provide a schematic for YOUR school work.
