Voltage regulation can be achieved using a zener diode connected in:
A) Parallel with the filter output forward bias
B) Parallel with the filter output reverse bias
C) Series with the filter output forward bias
D) Series with the filter output reverse bias
Thanks.

With forward bias, zeners conduct like a regular diode. Think of your circuit with a diode attached like that. Will that give regulation or just a plain short?

With reverse bias, they start conducting at their rated voltage. As that current increases, where does the regulation (voltage drop) come from? Would it happen with a resistor in series or in parallel?
