Hi All - Based on the pictures below, what is the best method to power the Arduino Nano?? I'm trying to avoid stepping down the voltage from 14vdc ---> 5vdc because the linear regulator gets pretty hot. Not smoking hot since it's still cool enough to touch but hotter than I'm comfortable with running for long periods of time. I also want the best protection for the Arduino Nano.

 

Either attach a heatsink to the linear regulators or use a switch mode power supply.
