Hello guys,
I need to calculate the voltage drop across a wire conductor AWG 16. I have a 24VDC, 2.5A power supply and need to find out how many devices I can power for 100feet distance. Each device is 7VA. What formula to I use?

248.9 feet per ohm
200 ft round trip = .8035 ohms
7VA/24V = .2917A each
10% loss of voltage = 2.4V
.2917A x .8035 ohms = .2387 volt loss per item
2.4V/.2387 = 10 items.
2.5A x 24V = 60 VA
60/7 = 8.57 items.

Limit = 8 items.
The wire is big enough. The limit is in the power supply.
