I am modifying an XBOX 350 controller to add a rapid fire button for one of the buttons for a particular game. I designed everything around assuming the controller was over 5V (Thought the rechargeable pack was a 2 cell lithium, it is a 2 cell Nimh). A 555 timer needs 4.5V or so to work obviously, so I was wondering if I have any options to up the voltage from the 2.4-2.6V Nimh pack to around double to run my 555?

I've already found the 2 points on the board for the original button connection, added an additional button, built the 555 pulse circuit, pretty much everything is good to go until I hit this speed bump.

That looks like exactly what I need, basically just a low voltage 555 to make a charge pump. Thanks!
