ive ordered a vga to rca cable off ebay...was $5 inc postage...more out of curiosity than anything...

will get out the multimeter and check continuity etc of the cable just to see...

I could find no info on this so am just putting it up for future people searching the net for no existant info...

Geez. You aren't listening. There is no straight through connection from VGA to composite (except for GND).

 

So what are the cables for.

True, but if I recall it was only a very old and very discontinued ATi card. Perhaps the VGA Wonder.

 

I know old matrox as well...im merely satisfying my own curriousity at this point...

 

Composite computer video looks likes rubbish.

 

Some graphics cards yes, like ATI EGA Wonder. That was 25 years ago. But not on the VGA connector.

You can have my ATI EGA Wonder card if you want it.

Ok results time...

i cant get it to display...surprise surprise...i did get a pattern for a moment but no image..

i checked continuity on the various pins

pin 6 goes to centre of composite connector
every other pin is open...ie no cont..
the outer cylinder on the composite plug has continuity with the outer of the D connector...

didnt check the other connectors...

so for anyone contemplating buying a connector thats all it does...pin6 which is an earth goes to the centre of the composite plug and the outer goes to the outer...

any ideas what this cables actual use is for?
