Variable Capacitor using Tubing-Cylinders

    This is only a drawing showing how to make a Variable Capacitor using
    Tubing/Cylinders

    Next is, two (connected to each other) concentric pipes going into another two (connected to each other) concentric pipes. Shorter but wider.

    Next, tightly twisted (isolated) wire. Space wise, the thinest the better. Seen in the filter part (pF range) of a signal generator.

    A lot of companies make small ones. Google "piston capacitor" or "tubular trimmer capacitor".

    Hello,

    Philips used to make "toltrimmers".
    They where made of cilindrical busches that would fit into eachother.
    Here is a picture of how they looked like:
