Hello all. A ham buddy awhile ago told me he had heard of the development of an IC with vacuum, cathode, grid and plate for operation in the THZ region. I wasn't able to find out other info. Has anyone heard of this?

I remember an artical a while back about development of vacuum tube based circuits like ic's, as an attempt to make equipment EMP proof. using ic manufacturing techniques, and a common vacuum package for several tubes.
