Hi everyone,i would really like to get books or anything that would help me learn how to assemble electronic and electrical parts on a circuit board.

try buying Basic electronics by bernard grob.
Start from that book and you will learn a lot.

I also never soldered anything on a PCB board before (well I did once, but I was young, and forgot how), not to mention my soldering skills need work. I mostly work with protoboards.

Is there any good guide to give some pointers on how to do this? Thanks.

There was some talk about putting this in the AAC book. It was dropped, but I don't know why...

There are videos on youtube that could help. I mostly use stripboard for soldering up projects. It's an easy transition from protoboards.

Well, if you are talking about PCB design,

here is a good reference to alot of the points of design:
    http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Practical_Electronics/PCB_Layout

and a good book if you are looking to do it for a living, or impress someone of the opposite sex that is involved in the industry:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0071350160/dynamixtechnolog

Are you trying to start a company using automated equipment or are you looking to start as a hobbyist?

Is there a software package you want to learn to use for design of layout?
