Hello there everybody!!

I was thinking whether I can use a AAA Ni-MH battery charger to charge a AA one. The shop beside m house has a AAA smart charger , but not AA. If I extend the terminals of the charger to charge a AA battery will there be any problem? I know that it will take longer time, but wont the charger be able to detect the fully charged NI-MH battery??

 

I can't remember what type of batteries it charged, but I remember having a battery charger many years ago and it would charge anything from AAA to D size. it had one fixed contact and then the other one was spring loaded and the bay extended to take bigger size batteries. From what I recall you could charge more than one type of battery at once without a problem, but I could be wrong.
