I have 480 Delta 3 wire coming into my shop primarily used for motor loads. I got ahold of some 5 tap lights that I would like to use to replace some old t12. I'm thinking the ideal way is to install a delta /wye transformer 3ph and use one leg and the neutral provide from the wye.
However in my search for answers I came across a suggestion to use the 240 split phase from my 240/120 panel. By wiring one 120v to the 240 tap and the other 120 to the com. If this will work my other question is ,if I use the 480v tap can I use 2 legs from my 480 delta ,one leg to 480v tap one leg to com. And use a 2 pole contactor to operate.
