Hi All,
I want to know how to detect usb port number and which device is presently connected to that physical usb port. I use Windows XP. If you know any instruction similar to Linox's "lsusb" that can be typed in Windows' cmd, please help.
Thanks.

No sure 100% on what your talking about but try this.

1) Click Start, Right Click My Computer, and Click Proprites.
2) Click Hardware Tab and then Click Device Manager.
3) Scroll down till you see Universal Serial Bus controllers.

Is that what your looking for?

Thank you Siniter Fister,
I am already familiar with the steps you wrote. But I want something else: if I have some device connected to PC, say USB storage device (disk on key), how can I determine what is the number of USB physical port to which the special device is connected?
