UPS

    We have 120Vac UPS in which we have 16 batteries per string and each string consists of 16 (12V) batteries connected in series.
    I would like to know if each string consists of 16 (12V) Btteries then how cum the out put we are having is 120vac.

    I have a UPS that contains two 12V batteries. The output is 120VAC.

    Is it a switching power supply?
    If it is then i think it doesnt matter how many batteries you have in it , it just regulates the output to be whatever it should be , in this case 120vac

    The UPS has an inverter circuit with a transformer that converts the DC to AC.

    The DC supply is converted by an oscillator to AC and stepped up by a transformer like this design
