Design a 3-bit even up/down counter, the counter start counts from 000-010-100-110 and repeats if it counts up(up/down input =1), and from 110-100-010-000 and repeats if it counts down (up/down input =0). Up/ down is an external control input to the circuit.


i know how to make up/down counter but i cant get the idea of even number counting could you plz help !

 

In all states the LSB is zero. So in reality, all that must be designed is a 2-bit up/down counter.
