I got an old used usb NIC (netgear fa101) today find out it won't run in win 7 or anything newer than XP. looked for universal driver, but no such thing for USB nics. I'v always thought it would be nice to make a driver if I needed, but know very little programing.
if I attempt to make a driver what should I use. I have access to some C++ programs like visual C++, FoxPro, visual j sharp, small basic. will any of these work?
also any tips to writing the driver appreciated. looking to run device on vista,7 32 & 64 bit and maybe 64 bit xp. I'd kind of like to try to make it myself then I'll have I bit of background for other drivers and update this one for new OS, but if anyone would like to give me some code to begin with or a whole drive then I can make a copy and figure out how it works, and how to update it.
