Hello all,
I need to use either a UJT or UPT to fire an SCR for a simple demonstration circuit.(Its part of the spec)
I read online that UJTs are obsolete, but that PUTs such as 2N6027 are still easily available.
I have easily purchased and used a 2N6027, but was wondering whether it is true that UJTs are effectively obsolete and should be avoided in new circuits ?
They operate somewhat differently so I thought it worth asking around before abandoning UJTs completely.
Could anyone who knows these devices well comment ?
Thanks,
