Someone slipped up and said Google, Bing has information brokers ,they don't

have to have ads...they can sell your information. Also there was a question

about selling mug shots...even if someone was found not guilty or worst

just booked and never faced charge's.

 

AFAIK mug shots and similar information are public documents, meaning you or anyone can walk into a courthouse or other public institution and request to inspect their records, and make coppies thereof.

Certain agancies make their living doing just that. They copy public information, them make it available.

As they are selling a service (that trip down to look at the records) I have no problem with this.

The question if these records should be public in the first place is a different matter.
